  1. Let's take a minute to discuss the bane of my existence - factory handgun sights. I hate them. It doesn't even matter which manufacturer, really. Realistically, you're going to end up with one of two options: 1) some sort of white dot sight, to include Glock's weird pumpkin/basket configuration, or 2) some sort of glowing 3-dot sight. As a Glock shooter, I dislike both options, so I rarely spring for the more expensive night sight gun. I usually buy the cheaper plastic sight gun, then use the savings to put toward a nice set of aftermarket sights. I'm always open to new designs, but as of now my favorite sights are from 10-8 Performance.

  3. I've had the pleasure of experiencing Trijicon's Accupower 1-8x28 optic for the last three months. For those of you who may be looking for a low power variable optic for duty use, this is an optic you really need to take a look at.

  4. When I'm checking in on my Facebook groups, one of questions I see most often is "What is the best ____________ for my AR/pistol/shotgun?" Doesn't really matter what you fill in the blank with. It could be trigger, grip, rail, stock, whatever. Usually, that's all the information presented, and not a single specification more. When you're sitting on a retailer's site, especially one with a lot of options, picking out gear can seem pretty daunting. There's a wide range of pricing, quality, and designs. Let me see if I can recommend a few questions to ask yourself that will make choosing gear easier. They might also cut down on the snarky responses you get from the forums. Let me try to help you with buying gear with these 5 questions.

  5. I'd like to take a minute to talk about an issue. It's an issue that is slowly picking up steam, but still hasn't reached as far as it needs to. That issue is medical knowledge and equipment.

  6. Product in this review:Geissele Maritime Bolt Catch - AR15 I've never been a huge fan of the stock AR-15 bolt catch. Let's be honest - the thing is tiny. Don't get me wrong, the bolt catch performs its job, but there's plenty of room for improvement.

  8. As I mentioned in my article about the HB Industries Drill Bit Kit, I know you guys are looking for information on EVO triggers. It's coming, I promise. But, I'm still waiting on a few triggers to arrive, and all the grips already did. So, I figured I would go ahead and test out the grips first and then I'll hit the triggers. I promise.

  9. Since it seems like the interwebs enjoyed the last article about CZ Scorpion EVO accessories, I got the go-ahead to write a second one. I like to please the consumer, so I polled a Scorpion Facebook group to see what they wanted to see next. Triggers came out far, far ahead, blowing out magazines by 20+ votes. Naturally, I began researching aftermarket triggers, but I quickly ran into a problem.

  10. As someone who has used AR-15s and their government-issued brethren for well over fifteen years, I've gradually developed a list of accessories that I think are essential on an AR.  While I usually build my own guns now, there are plenty of people buying an AR for the first time.  If you're one of them, I hope this helps.  Please keep in mind that I tend to focus on defensive rifles, so if you're just getting a plinker, or working precision, your needs may vary.
