  1. When it comes to manipulations of almost all AR15 rifles, aside from the trigger, the most used and manipulated control is the charging handle. It’s what charges and clears the weapon and is directly linked to the BCG (Bolt Carrier Group) and the only way to manipulate it. This makes the charging handle a very important piece of the firearm. The Mil-spec charging handles leave a lot to be desired. The area you have to wrap your fingers around is very small and becomes increasingly more difficult when you are using gloves or if your hands are wet, sweaty or dirty. For some, it may work just fine for a casual day on the range, but if you are to do any sort of serious shooting, upgrading is a must.

  2. The AR-15 has become one of the most popular firearms among American gun owners and for good reason. Due to its lightweight frame, high level of accuracy and versatility, the weapons system is a testament how innovation can transform an older design. For years now, firearms accessory manufacturers have been turning out various parts for the AR-15. While many still prefer to buy pre-built firearms, many others enjoy shopping around for the coolest and best parts on the market and create something special and tailored for them. One of the fundamental elements of the build starts with an upper receiver.

  3. There are few parts of an AR that are as important as the bolt carrier group. While the standard Mil-Spec bolt carrier does its job well and has for decades, new improvements in technology and materials have come along and revolutionized the design. When looking at the Best Bolt Carrier Group to use for any AR-15, there a number of factors one must consider. Like many aftermarket pieces for ARs, much depends on what the intended purpose of the weapon is, what sort of budget you have to work with, firing frequency, and of course aesthetic appeal. However, before we delve into the finer points, lets first understand what a bolt carrier group is and what sorts of duties it performs.

  4. Since the AR-15/M16 came out in 1957, it has become the one of the most popular firearms platforms in the world. During the last ten to fifteen years, many companies have been manufacturing aftermarket parts, such as stocks, trigger groups, bolt carriers, foregrips and muzzle devices. Even though the A2 flash hider has been around for a long time and is still very popular, many new designs have come out recently, each having their own benefits.

  5. This weeks build is a slight departure from what we normally feature. Nearly all the firearms we have shown on these emails are various personal builds from employees here at Rainier Arms. The rifle we are showcasing today was built specifically for one of our local police departments here in Western Washington. The philosophy behind the build of this rifle was something to replace the department’s bolt guns for longer range shooting that also allowed SWAT sniper teams to participate in close quarters engagements if needed.

  8. The LuthAR MBA – 3 is a very interesting stock, it is not a traditional stock that most would put on the traditional AR platform. When it comes to carbine buffer tubes, most people start looking at the traditional Magpul stocks, Mission First Tactical and many others. This is not an issue for a traditional AR, but as long-range precision is becoming more and more popular LuthAR stepped up to create a precision stock that can be fit onto a standard carbine buffer. This opens up the ability for those who do not like fixed stocks or cannot use a traditional fixed stock to use a precision stock.

  9. What are the two most popular methods when applying for a SBR stamp? Trust Trust is a legal entity and as such can legally own assets. One of the most popular methods for getting a NFA stamp is using a trust for a couple reasons. Depending on the trust you select and it’s legal language the process of inheritance of NFA items can be considerably easier. A trust can provide the ability for the control to move to another person without actual ownership the of the item changing. Another benefit if you select a trust with the ability to add/remove co-trustees is you can allow other individuals to posses the same NFA items without you present.

  10. The BAD-EMMR is a lightweight, low profile, modular magazine release for the AR-15 and AR-10, recently released by Battle Arms Development. Its expanded finger pad provides an enlarged, uninterrupted, contact surface that gives the user a positive tactile feedback resulting in fumble-free operation.  One of its outstanding features is its modular design, allowing its users to use an array of finger pads depending on personal preference or operation. The EMMR’s 3-sided, precision fit, solid, dovetail attachment interface simplifies its locking mechanism – a feature that makes it stand out from the rest of its competitors. This translates to a wiggle-free, tight tolerance, slop-free fitting between the magazine release body and finger pad. The dovetail attachment interface also removes the stress away from the screw; this allows a single, scaled down, set screw to be used as opposed to the typical two large steel screws.
