The North Eastern Arms Compact Carbine Stock (CCS) is the ultimate Personal Defense Weapon (PDW) solution. A collapsible stock; shortening the overall length of the rifle approximately 2 7/8” inches compared to a traditional M4 stock. The CCS has been designed with the professional in mind, allowing for quick deployment into the firing position. The CCS is a 2 position stock that can simply be pulled into the fully extended position without the need for manipulation and collapsed by depressing the locking mechanism. The CCS is made out of 6061 T6 Aluminum and 4140 steel to ensure its durability in the harshest environments. The aluminum is Type III Hard Anodized and the steel components have been treated with our ARC+ Nitriding giving an added layer of corrosion resistance and durability. The CCS comes as a complete drop-in unit containing stock, stock adapter, buffer tube, spring and modified full auto bolt carrier/buffer. The CCS is compatible with most mil spec AR-15’s.

Terrible Quality-Rusty BCGReview by LC
I ordered one of these during the Father's Day sale and it showed up in the mail today. When I opened the box the first thing that struck my eye was the finish on the BCG. It looked really splotchy. I tried wiping the surface and my rag turned completely black from the finish coming off. Looking at it again I could see that the splotches were still there. I wiped the BCG with a very light coating of oil to see if that would even out the finish. No dice, it was still just as bad. I wiped off the oil and looked at the BCG closely under a light that was brighter than my garage overhead. Under this light it became obvious that the entire BCG was really rusty before the nitride coating was applied. The only thing that would fix this finish would be to strip the BCG to bare metal, polish the metal to remove all of the pit marks, and then reapply the finish. I'm certainly not going to go through that hassle, so tomorrow I'm going to call Rainier Arms to get an RMA to send it back for a refund or exchange.

As an FYI, I'm not one of those guys who freaks out if a lower or hand guard shows up with a scratch in it. I get that this stuff happens (I work in manufacturing) and I'm going to scratch the finish up anyway, so it isn't worth the hassle to send it back. However, getting an item that was clearly rusted to the point of causing surface irregularities and then finishing it anyway is just ridiculous. I'm not putting that in one of my rifles. For context, I have several BCGs that cost me in the neighborhood of $85.00/each, and I run those happily in other rifles. For the price of this item, it should be cosmetically perfect. Works with SpikesReview by Rob
This stock is great and compact however the first lower I tried it on was an Anderson Manufacturing lower. It simply would not fit. The buffer tube would not thread into the receiver more than one turn and then it would stick. I tried this on two other Anderson lowers and had the same problem. Then I tried it on a Spikes Tactical lower and it went right on with no issues. The bolt carrier and spring make mating the upper and lower a little bit more of a pain because you have to slide it into the buffer tube and lock in the rear takedown pin and then the pivot pin. To service the rifle you'll have to reverse the operation so the pivot pin essentially becomes another takedown pin because you aren't going to be pivoting the upper with the NEA system installed. One more issue that I have found was that my quick detach sling doesn't fit because the ring is too wide.
Overall I like it. The whole system is of solid construction and easy to use/ install. (Posted on 6/13/2015)
