To preface this review, I also own the Rainier Match 14.5" mid. On average it shoots 5 shot 3/4 MOA groups with my hand loaded Hornady 75gr BTHP @ 2600 fps. It's a little over-gassed with NATO pressure loads, but I did swap my H buffer for an H2. After that it runs beautifully putting brass in a neat pile to my 4 o'clock approx 5 ft away off the bench.

Due to my excellent experience with that barrel I purchased this Rock Creek 16" mid hoping to squeeze out a little better accuracy. Right from the get go, the Rock Creek barrel was sending random fliers. Groups that didn't have fliers were printing 1.5"-2" at 100 yards. At 300 yards, I had less than half my rounds on the cardboard of the target stand. At this point I'm thinking this barrel has to have a bad crown. I got home and took a look at the end of the barrel and it doesn't even have a crown!

Atleast that restores some of my sanity trying to get this barrel to shoot. Some of my other observations is this barrel is even more over-gassed than my 14.5" match and probably could use an H3 buffer. Also the threads are tight on this barrel. My battle comp wouldn't screw on by hand and neither would a thread protector. I didn't bother getting a wrench because I needed to get to the range so I shot bare muzzle. I'm willing to give these Rock Creek barrels another try since I'm still under warranty, but only after talking to Rainier about the crown and thread issues. (Posted on 11/6/2016)

I'm amazed how well this barrel shoots, I was shooting 0.5-0.75" groups with 55gr Wolf Gold while breaking in the barrel. The next weekend I tied two bolt action guns in a 200yd varmint match shooting 69gr IMI. I'm also amazed how easily the barrel cleans up and how smoothly patches pass through the bore. The only negative is how fragile the bead blast finish is, mine got all scratched up while installing the gas block and hand guard, personally I don't care about aesthetics but some people may have a problem with it.
