The Rainier Arms MARS (Magazine Advanced Release System) for Glock, designed by Battleline Industries, is a drop in release which is compatible with all GEN 1 - 3 Glock pistols in calibers 9mm, 40 S&W, and .357 SIG. The MARS is made of 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum, with a Type III Class 2 MIL-SPEC hard coat anodizing finish and stainless steel hardware for maximum corrosion resistance and durability. The MARS control surfaces are slightly extended and feature an aggressive texture for a faster reload and positive control.

The MARS is COMPLETELY ambidextrous, giving both left and right hand shooters as well as competitors, a tactical advantage with the ability to release the magazine using the index finger from either side.  The MARS is a force multiplier in a combative situation, enabling the left and right hand shooter better options to manipulate magazine changes with speed and efficiency without disturbing the proper firing grip and allowing for more accurate follow up shots.

This magazine release was a game changer. I don't have the dexterity in my 64 year old hands. Now I have the ability to drop the magazine and quickly reload. I've tried others and this is the best. Buy the MARS and don't look back. (Posted on 11/13/2016)

It doesnt work with my thumb,my thumb is not that long and on the other side it stuck out way too far on the left release the magazine ,sitting in a chair at home and one time in my van and glad i was there not somewhere else , so i filed it down and has'nt happen since then...I like the idea of be able to release it from either side... Great material. Works like stated. But is not easy to function as a left handed shooter. More of a novel idea than a practical invention especially for the price. (Posted on 11/1/2016)

I was looking for a good ambidextrous magazine release when I discovered this one produced by Rainier Arms. After reading all of the great reviews by other users, I knew I had to get one. I installed one of these in my Glock 17. It easily dropped in with no trouble whatsoever. It works perfectly and doesn't affect my grip. I can very easily drop the magazine from the right or left side of the gun without changing my grip! My only regret is that I can't get one to fit my (Gen3) Glock 21 or my (Gen4) Glock 17. Hopefully Rainier Arms will be producing these in the near future! (Posted on 10/22/2016)

This is an outstanding product for lefties (or right handers shooting support-side. Well constructed, innovative engineering, nice finish, seems durable enough. The only caveat I noticed - those with smaller hands or short fingers (i.e., my left handed wife) will need to "flip" the pistol to drop the magazine, if using the firing hand thumb. The mechanics of the system require slight rearward pressure to the front edge of the right side button, as opposed to a straight in push, as on the left side button. This requires a certain amount of finger length. A small modification to technique, and it in no way detracts from the excellent design. (Posted on 9/28/2016)

This product is an awesome addition to my G19! Not only is it well made, but allows me the option to use either my thumb or index finger for quick magazine changes on the range or in an unexpected high stress situation. Thanks to Rainier Arms and Battle Line Industries for making such a great product! (Posted on 9/22/2016)

This thing is an awesome waste of money. The action on the auxiliary release is a little stiff, but it will go on every fucking Glock I own. (Posted on 9/18/2016)

It is not what I thought it was at allReview by Marc

This was not what I thought it was at all. The MARS is a fantastic addition to my Glock that I never knew I needed. I am a right handed shooter and not very good with my left hand. I have never been interested in left handed or ambidextrous controls for any of my guns. I just do not need them, or so I thought.

I was at the range and I wanted to shoot my friends Gen 4 Glock. He shoots right hand just like I do. I ran a magazine out from his G17. I went to eject the magazine and it would not come out. I pushed hard and pulled on the bottom. He laughed at me and told me he switched sides so he could use his middle finger to eject the magazine. I pushed it and it popped right out. I practiced a few times and it worked perfect for me. I do not have very big hands; I would say they are “normal” hands. I have always had to loosen or change my grip to get my thumb to engage the magazine release. Now I can keep my grip and drop the magazine.

I picked up a Gen 4 Glock but did not like it as much as my gen 3. I switched the magazine release and it worked for me, most of the time. I found that when shooting under stress I would revert back to my thumb to drop the magazine; of course it would not drop. This could be a life or death mistake under fire.

I first saw this at Shot Show and fell in love with it. I am so glad it finally came out. It works flawlessly and is very natural. You can drop your magazine from the right or left or both at the same time. Now I can change my magazine with confidence even under stress. I trust my life to this little add on.

The MARS is worth every penny and it is not very many pennies for such a revolutionary leap. Why has Glock not put this in every gun? It is an easy drop in part.

This MARS part is very high quality, exceptional ingenuity, and works perfect - allowing gen 4 mags to be used in any gen 3 frame, fully ambidextrous. It is easily useable, meaning one can get the hang of it right away in how to press the right hand side release. The other reviews speak the same for me too. Get one, or one for each of your Glocks, you will not regret it. (Posted on 7/31/2016)

Dropped this baby in a gen 3 Glock 19 within 10 minutes of opening the box. This is a must have for any real Glock shooter. No more work around by either altering my grip or using my support hand to manipulate the firearm. Top quality, great ingenuity, and all-around great product for any Glock owner. Over the course of the last few years I've been on a quest to find my perfect EDC firearm. I loved my Glock 19 but because it lacked a true ambidextrous mag release I always felt the need to try other makers. However, despite having tried two dozen other great firearms I found myself back to my Glock 19. Besides the mag release limitation, I loved everything else about it. Of course I saw a couple ambidextrous magazine releases come out for the Glock over the years but they never peaked my interest. Either the design was too bulky or the reviews were poor.

Then I discovered the Rainier Arms MARS designed by Battleline Industries! From the looks of it I really liked it but I was slightly skeptical since there weren't any reviews here yet. Regardless, I decided to give the MARS a try anyway. Once it arrived I inspected it thoroughly and immediately started to see that this was no doubt a quality part. The jimping felt amazing on both sides, the black finish looked great, and the technology was simply fascinating for such a small part. The big question remained, would it actually work?

I got the MARS installed in a couple minutes, grabbed an empty mag, and began manipulating the mag release. The MARS was amazing!! This was the missing part I'd been looking for all along. The tolerances on the MARS were awesome. There was no play, it had a great tactile feel when using the thumb to release the mag, and the same held true on the opposite side using my index and middle finger. I performed the same function tests in my other hand and what could I say, I loved it! The only thing left was to load up the mags and hit up the range.

One week later and 1000 rounds later, the Glock 19 and MARS were a perfect match!! Whether my mags were full, empty, clean, or dirty, everything ran flawlessly. I no longer had to change my grip to do mag changes with my non-dominant hand and I loved that I had options no matter which hand was used. It was official, my Glock 19 was now perfect!! Battleline Industries knocked it out of the park with this one!!
