Honestly, this review isn't going to be a good one. A few months ago I purchased 2 Battle Arms Development PDW Monolithic Lowers. At the time of purchase the matching Battle Arms Development Lightweight Uppers were out of stock. I had to wait until the Uppers were available again. Two weeks ago I saw the Uppers were in stock so, I purchased two of them to go with both my PDW lowers. My intentions are to build two PDW rifles chambered in .300 Blackout and .223 Wylde. The uppers arrived last week and were packaged nicely as expected. Now for the part of this review that isn't good. After unboxing I first noticed the Uppers were finished in a shiny almost satin like finish and my Lowers are a very dull matte finish, WTF???? I fit the Uppers and Lowers together I noticed immediately that the fit was loose and sloppy so I swapped the Uppers and Lowers, same thing loose and sloppy. The front piviot lugs on the Uppers fit the lowers very good however, the takedown lug on the upper is very loose and was over machined by a couple thousandths. Second problem, the holes drilled into the Uppers lugs are also oversized. This causes the upper to rock side to side and front to back on both lowers. In order to fit the Uppers somewhat properly the tension screw must be screwed in making contact with the bottom of the takedown lugs. Upon doing this it causes a gap between the receiver halves which is totally unacceptable in my opinion. The gap is large enough that fine sand or dirt could get in and muck up the action. Again totally unacceptable. At the cost of these receivers I could have easily bought four complete AR 15's for the same money. I expected as close to perfection as anyone who's purchased Battle Arms Development components in the past already knows and would expect the same. My $65.00 Anderson receiver set fits better than this $1,000.00 piece of polished $&@#... Rainer Arms is NOWAY responsible for these problems. I will however be contacting Battle Arms Development to see if there a reputable company and fix there problem. I blame the poor quality do to the recent election and uncertainty as to who our next president would be. If I were in the firearms industry during this time I to would try to crank out as many parts as I could just to get them in consumers hands. Now that the election is over and our firearms are safe for at least another four years I hope and expect Battle Arms Development to handle this matter professionally and give back two complete receiver sets that look and fit like a tailor made glove. Wait and see for a part 2 of this review. At this time I can only give 2 stars in good faith. (Posted on 11/26/2016)

This is an extremely well machined piece, no tooling marks, and an extremely even finish. I was happy that they had the lighter Gen2 model. The upper and lower fit together perfectly. I'd like to get another to build another upper for this lower. (Posted on 8/5/2016)
