The new storefront is located at 3208 Cooke Way in Oklahoma City. It couldn’t have a better location – close highway access on three sides, right up the road from Will Rogers Airport, and not too far from the Oklahoma River…though we don’t know how much traffic will come via that route.

Rainier moved their warehouse and opened a range in Wichita, Kansas several years ago. Their experience there opened the company’s eyes to the many advantages of the region.

Rainier CEO John Hwang explains, “We realized the friendly business climate and amazing people of the Midwest. As we settled roots we wanted to expand further into the Midwest and looked at either Kansas City or Oklahoma City as our next logical location.”

Though it took years of struggling through obstacles, construction was finally completed. The result is a beautiful retail location unlike anything else in the area.

“We are hopeful we can establish a new foundation and home here but also nervous at the same time,” Hwang continues. “Our buildout was extremely over budget and the market is incredibly soft. As an entrepreneur, I’m used to taking massive amounts of risk, but I haven’t felt this uncomfortable in a very long time. We hope to be able to look back 3-5 years from now and feel it was the great decision as we did with Wichita.”
